President: Charisse Cossu-Kowalski
Charisse Cossu-Kowalski and her husband, Stan, live in Macomb County and have four children. Their two oldest boys were prenatally exposed to alcohol.
Charisse joined MCFARES when it was formed in 2003 and has been involved with the Michigan FASD Task Force since 2005. Charisse holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and prior to becoming a full-time parent, worked with mentally ill adults in Wayne County. Charisse also sits on the board of her son’s school.
Vice-President: Kimberly Holka
Kimberly A. Holka, DNP, MSA, RN, APHN-BC, CNE, is a Full-Time Adjunct Instructor at Oakland University School of Nursing in Rochester, MI where she has instructed since 2006. Her expertise includes community health and wellness, forensic and emergency health, nursing education and orientation advising for students. She was also recognized for her commitment to promoting infant safe sleep practices and participation in the Best Start for Babies from the Oakland County Health Division in September 2013 to present. Most recently, she received a National Health Security Award in collaboration with the Macomb County Health Department Environmental Preparedness Program by the National Association of County and City Health Officials. She has also presented on the topic of FASD.
Kimberly has been a member of MCFARES since 2006 and joined MCFARES Board in 2016.

Vice-President: Emily Rusnak
Emily Rusnak and her husband, Bill, live in Washtenaw County and a parents to a preteen girl prenatally exposed to alcohol. Emily and Bill adopted their daughter from foster care in 2010.
Emily joined the MCFARES Board in 2016 and is also a member of the Michigan FASD Task Force. Emily holds a Ph.D. in communication sciences and disorders, with a primary interest in environmental risk to development, and clinical certification in speech-language pathology. She is currently adjunct assistant professor at Bowling Green State University and part-time lecturer at Eastern Michigan University. She also owns a pediatric speech-language therapy practice.
Treasurer: Sue Lind
Sue Lind has a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Western Michigan University. She was a teacher of students with emotional impairments for 12 years and collaborated with the Children’s Trauma Assessment Center (CTAC) at Western Michigan University. Sue currently works as the Quality Assurance Coordinator at The Arc of Macomb County. She has been a board member of MCFARES for 5 years.
Secretary: Juline Lloyd
Juline Lloyd and her husband Phil live in Grand Rapids. Family connections to the FASD diagnosis motivated Juline to become involved with MCFARES in 2016.
Now that their four children are grown, Juline works as an RN and spends her free time pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing and working on MCFARES projects.
